Dominic Oldfield - principal Cellist
Dominic began playing the cello at the age of 4 and has been a pupil of Roger Ladds since moving to Leeds in 1997. Now 18, he achieved a grade 8 distinction at the age of 14 and in 2007 was awarded the ATCL performance diploma from Trinity College, London.
He has also been a member of the Yorkshire Youth and Northern Wagner Orchestras and has performed in a number of chamber music ensembles.
Dominic also plays the piano and gained grade 8 distinction in June 2008. In addition, he sings baritone and is a member of St Peter's Singers and Leeds Youth Opera, where he has taken roles in the productions of Carmina Burana and the forthcoming I Lombardi. He plans to study music at university.
