How to join CLYO
The City of Leeds Youth Orchestra (CLYO) rehearses on Friday evenings during term time from 6.45pm to 9.15pm at ArtForms, Pudsey Civic Hall, Dawson’s Corner, Pudsey, LS28 5TA
CLYO welcomes string, woodwind, brass and percussion players under 19 years of age who would normally be expected to be at least grade 6-7 standard.
If you would like to attend a trial rehearsal before deciding whether to apply, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org at least one week in advance of the rehearsal you plan to visit. (Please note visiting a rehearsal does not guarantee there will a space for you in the group.)
If you are interested in joining CLYO or for more information and the application from please see the ArtForms – City of Leeds Youth Music or telephone 0113 378 2850.
Although priority is given to players from Leeds, players from a wider area are very welcome to apply.
PLEASE NOTE: CLYM groups are subsidised by Leeds Music Education Parnership (LMEP). LMEP funding is intended for Leeds children. As a result, places will only be offered to applicants NOT resident or attending school within Leeds Metropolitan Area if there is a space which has not been filled by a qualified applicant from within Leeds. From September 2015, those from outside the Leeds area who gain a place in a CLYM group will be offered that place for one year only: they will have to re-apply in subsequent years and may lose their place if a suitable candidate applies from within Leeds. (Continuing CLYM members who are not Leeds-based, but who originally applied prior to 2015, will keep their place according to the policy that was current at the time of their application.)
